The artwork carries no name of ours
The piece you hang carries no name of ours. Here is the decision, what it costs us, and where the brand lives instead.
What we used to do
For a while every piece shipped with our web address printed in the bottom right corner. Every format, no way to remove it. It is normal in this industry and the commercial logic is obvious: every gift works as an advert in somebody else’s home.
Why we stopped
Think of a wedding invitation, or a newborn’s birth chart on their bedroom wall. That piece will be on a wall for years, and it carried the URL of a commercial supplier with nothing to do with what is being celebrated there.
The problem was not the type size or the wording. It was being on the artwork at all. A brand that needs to sign somebody else’s gift does not fully trust its own product.
Where the brand lives now
On the certificate, which comes separately and you keep if you want to. It holds the coordinates, the time zone, the house system and the zodiac: the figures that make the chart verifiable. It is a brand piece because it is useful, not because it takes up space.
And on the preview on this site, which is watermarked. That version is served as vector: without the mark it would not be a sample, it would be the complete digital file given away, and some customers pay for that file.
What this means for you
That what you receive is the piece, whole and unsigned by us. What you see in the configurator behind the watermark is exactly the file that gets printed, without it.
What it costs us
A gift hanging on a wall is advertising that works for years inside somebody else's home, and giving that up has a measurable price: every piece that leaves stops bringing visitors back. In a sector where almost everyone signs the product, it is the most expensive decision we have made.
What we get instead is that whoever asks «where did you get this?» hears the answer from the person who gave it, rather than from a URL printed in a corner. We would rather have that conversation, even if it happens less often.
Where our name does appear
On the certificate, in the confirmation email, on the packaging and on this website. None of those is the artwork: they are the commercial transaction, which is exactly where a company has to be identifiable, and where the law requires it to be.
Can I ask for the brand to be printed?
No, and that is not an oversight. The absence of a mark is not a product option: it is a property of everything we print.
Then how will anyone know it is yours if I give it away?
From the certificate, which you can hand over with the gift or keep. It is the part that identifies the work, and the part that gives the recipient something.
